Snakes & Stuff

We had two snake incidents this week. We got a new camera, but we keep forgetting to use it.

The first incident involved freeing a 5' black snake from the garden fence netting. He got all tangled up and it took about 10 mintues to get him cut loose and on his way. He didn't understand we were trying to help him, so he took a few tries to show his displeasure with his mouth. Finally, he was free and headed under the porch.

The second one was a little more serious. Kathy was mowing the lawn and a corn snake came out from the hay field just as she was passing by. It went right under the deck and out came several 1 to 2" snake sections. She felt pretty bad.

We planted some new trees in the fall and this spring- oaks, maples, peach, river birch, and blue spruce.

Also, Kathy has been going crazy at garage sales. When Ezra and Reid come and visit, they are going to have all kinds of stuff to do- boats, strollers, double seat wagons with cup holders, studing at little desks, etc.

  1. Poor lawnmower snake! Ezra and I can't wait to visit. I'm especially excited for the wagon.
