Kathy's Flower Class

My dream has been to work with flowers. This class provided a small glimpse into the floral world. It was a blast! And the arrangements didn't turn out so bad.

Snakes & Stuff

We had two snake incidents this week. We got a new camera, but we keep forgetting to use it.

The first incident involved freeing a 5' black snake from the garden fence netting. He got all tangled up and it took about 10 mintues to get him cut loose and on his way. He didn't understand we were trying to help him, so he took a few tries to show his displeasure with his mouth. Finally, he was free and headed under the porch.

The second one was a little more serious. Kathy was mowing the lawn and a corn snake came out from the hay field just as she was passing by. It went right under the deck and out came several 1 to 2" snake sections. She felt pretty bad.

We planted some new trees in the fall and this spring- oaks, maples, peach, river birch, and blue spruce.

Also, Kathy has been going crazy at garage sales. When Ezra and Reid come and visit, they are going to have all kinds of stuff to do- boats, strollers, double seat wagons with cup holders, studing at little desks, etc.

Aileron Rolls

I took a guy I work with flying yesterday after work- Aaron Powell. He had his camera with him and we did a couple of aileron rolls, which he did his best to film looking forward out the canopy. So here they are- one to the left and one to the right.

Almost the Whole Clan - (Adam is in Honduras)

This is a photo taken at Christmas last year.

Airplane Repair

The lastest on N68SF: it was discovered on April 24th that a plunger that acutates the fuel pump was installed upside down in the engine. To make a very long and frustrating story short, it took around 25 hours of my time plus 8 hours of the mechanic at the airport to remove all the accessories, the exhaust system, the intake system, the fuel injector throttle body, the oil sump, all the oil and fuel hoses, and finally the accessory case itself to be able to turn the little bugger right side up. Then, of course, everything had to be reassembled. Well, we finished yesterday and I did the first test flight. Things went well, but I think there is an air leak in the intake system and will have to do some tweaking tomorrow. I am getting really good at taking the engine cowl on and off.
Anyway, it was a lot of work and I was way worn out by the end of the week. But, at least I know it is right now.
